How long does each diving course take?

The duration depends on the specific course complexity:

• Open Water: 3 days.

What is a "Refresh Course," and do I need one?

A Refresh Course is designed for certified divers who haven't dived for a long period. It is essential to restore your confidence and update your skills before returning to the open sea. While dolphin sightings are 100% natural and cannot be guaranteed, our dive sites are well-known for their frequent appearance. Many guests at Deep South Divers enjoy magical encounters with dolphins during our daily trips.

Is it possible to see the famous Dugong (Sea Cow)?

The Dugong is rare, but Marsa Alam diving offers some of the highest chances in the Red Sea to spot them. We regularly organize trips to specific sites where Dugongs are known to reside.

Will we see sea turtles?

Yes! The probability of seeing turtles is very high, especially at the popular dive sites we visit in Marsa Alam.

Are there sharks, and are they dangerous?

The Red Sea is home to various shark species, such as the Oceanic Whitetip and Hammerhead. These are generally peaceful creatures and are not considered dangerous to divers. Seeing them is often the highlight of a trip for many divers.

What are the timings for the daily trips?

We usually depart between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM, depending on the dive site location, and return in the afternoon (typically between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM). Exact timings are confirmed the day before your trip.

Is lunch included in the boat trips?

Yes, a freshly prepared lunch and soft drinks are included in the price of most of our boat trips, allowing you to relax and refuel between dives.

Do you offer accommodation?

Yes, Deep South Divers can arrange accommodation for you. We offer stays inside the hotel or in nearby guest houses at special rates for our divers.

What is the water temperature in Marsa Alam?

Water temperature ranges between 24°C and 30°C depending on the season. We provide wetsuits suitable for all weather conditions to keep you comfortable.
